Ethnic cultures of NW China’s Qinghai displayed in Portugal

Over 200 photos and traditional handicrafts were on display at the "Touching the Magic of Qinghai" exhibition held Friday in Lisbon, capital of Portugal.

The exhibition was held to showcase the unique plateau landscape and splendid cultures and arts of northwest China's Qinghai province.

This exhibition will serve as a cultural bridge linking Qinghai with Europe and the whole world, said Liu Wei, deputy head of the publicity department of the Communist Party of China Qinghai provincial committee, in his opening address.

Li Ji, the Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Portugal, said he hoped that the exhibition could help boost cultural exchanges and strengthen friendship between the two countries.

"Qinghai is an enticing place and I will visit the beautiful Qinghai-Tibet Plateau one day," said a student of the Confucius Institute of Lisbon University.

Hundreds of Portuguese and local Chinese visited the exhibition.
