Mar. 2, 2018 -- Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, boasting rich solar energy, wind energy and hydroenergy resources, has been taking the lead in promoting clean energy in northwest China's Qinghai province.

Its wind power and photovoltaic power have a combined installed capacity of 6,142.5 megawatts, accounting for 59 percent of the province's total capacity.

China's first gigawatt-level ecological solar power generation park has been built in the prefecture, with an area of 609.6 square kilometers and an installed capacity of 17,765 megawatts.

The gross installed photovoltaic power capacity and average annual power generation have already reached 4,345 megawatts and 5 billion kilowatt hours respectively in the park.

Last year, 400 million kilowatt hours of electricity were transmitted from the prefecture to the Industrial Zone in Haidong city of the province and 800 million to Jiangsu province.

A demonstration base, showing a perfect combination of the photovoltaic industry and the animal husbandry, has also been set up in the prefecture.
