Nyingchi: ecology benefits the masses

Dec.31, 2019 -- In recent years, Nyingchi City of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region has always paid high attention to ecology and given full play to the advantages of ecological resources, thus let the masses realize the importance of ecological development.
Nearly 1,500 farmers and herdsmen in Nyingchi have participated in the ecological tourism industry, and  ecological agriculture and animal husbandry have increased the incomes of more than 78,000 people form 19,000 households. Besides, Nyingchi City has combined environmental protection withpoverty alleviation. Every year, 10% of the transfer funds for key national ecological functions is used to buy employment positions. The poor who are able to work will be assigned to become forest rangers, nature reserve managers and environmental protection supervisors, so as to arouse the enthusiasm of people of all ethnic groups in protecting ecology.
Now, there are more than 32,400 ecological posts in the city, with an annual per capita income of 3,500 yuan RMB. In addition, Nyingchi City has earnestly implemented various ecological policies to benefit the people. In the past five years, the city has provided 1.24 billion yuan RMB of forest ecological benefit compensation and grassland ecological protection subsidies & awards, making  people of all ethnic groups enjoy more and more green welfare.
