June 7, 2016 -- Tibet made great efforts in promoting ecological protection, pollution control and prevention and radiation environment management in 2015 and its environment has been well protected, according to the environment communique recently released by Tibet’s Environment Protection Department.

According to the communique, Tibet has 88.2015 million hectares of natural grass and its forest coverage rate reaches 14.01 percent, the first place nationwide.
A total of 1.457 billion yuan was invested to promote Tibet's ecological protection in 2015, according to the communique.
Besides, Tibet conducted inspections on the licensing of pollutant discharge permits and the management of collecting pollution discharge fees in the past year.
