Feb. 11, 2018 -- In 2017, Tibet made great strides in transportation development with 56.9 billion yuan invested in fixed assets and 35 major highway projects and 1,374 rural roads projects launched. Six high-level roads including the Lhasa-Nyingchi road opened to traffic ahead of schedule. In the next three years, the region will make continuous efforts to build rural roads in extremely poor areas. Emergency supplies reserve stations will also be built along the roads in some areas. By 2020, Tibet will complete an investment of 238.8 billion yuan and the total length of its road network will reach 110,000 kilometers. |
