Samye Town is located in Zhanang County of Shannan City, southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region. On the north bank of Yarlung Zangbo River, it suffered from soil erosion in the past. Through continuous efforts on the prevention and control of desertification over the past 30 years, Samye Town now becomes an ecological town with a strong green barrier.
