Jan. 5, 2017 -- Three books on Tibetan history and medicine, including General History of Tibet, Encyclopedia of Tibetan Medicine, Red Memory: the Red Army Long March in Tibetan Areas and Its Contemporary Enlightenment, were promoted at the press conference on the 30 anniversary of the establishment of China Tibetan Press on Dec. 29, 2016.
The compilation of General History of Tibet is a national project launched in 2002 by China Tibetology Research Center and was completed at the end of 2016.
With a total of 8,5 million words in 8 volumes, it is the first and most complete and systematic book on Tibetan history .
Encyclopedia of Tibetan Medicine in 130 volumes collects the most precious and complete manuscripts from Tibetan medical literatures.
Red Memory: the Red Army Long March in Tibetan Areas and Its Contemporary Enlightenment is to commemorate the 80 anniversary of the victory of the Red Army Long March. It describes the history of the Red Army Long March in Tibetan areas.
“The study and compilation of General History of Tibet is of great significance. This masterpiece demonstrates innovation and the latest development in Tibetan history research,” said Labapingcuo, editor-in-chief of the book and former director-general of China Tibetology Research Center.
