Nov. 29, 2016 -- Sonam Chodron is a young actor of Tibetan Opera Troupe. In October 2016, the experimental Tibetan drama Turandot, which was directed by Sonam Chodron, made its debut successfully and entered the 2016 Contemporary Little Theater Drama & Opera Art Festival. From 19 to 20 November 2016, this opera was performed in Beijing Fanxing Theater Village.
It is an attempt to perform Turandot in the form of Tibetan opera and it is also an experimental exploration. Turandot tells a Chinese story in the perspective of western view. Now it is performed in Tibet language, which is not only a innovation and breakthrough, but also provides a broader stage and seeks a more suitable expression way for Tibetan opera.
