By the end of 2023, the region had registered 61,205 valid trademarks and 1,207 effective invention patents, marking 9.7 and 18 percent year-on-year increases, respectively, according to the regional market supervision department.

According to the Intermediate People's Court of Lhasa, from 2021 to 2023, Lhasa handled 488 intellectual property-related cases, six times more than the number recorded from 2018 to 2020.

"This reflects the significant expansion of the demand for intellectual property protection in our city's high-quality economic and social development," said Basang, vice president of the court.
