Lhasa Gonggar Airport: 99,000 air trips to be made during National Day Holiday

Oct.12,2020 -- Many people are keen to make their travel plans for the National Day holiday. Air passenger numbers of Lhasa Gonggar Airport are estimated to hit 99,000, up 10.5% over same period of last year. About 1,018 flights are expected to be made, up 8.2 % over the number made during the holiday in 2019, according to the regional civil aviation department.
 
Currently, there are 120 air lines linking southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region to 60 cities. Lhasa Gonggar Airport is linked by 91 air lines to 55 cities. The number of daily air passenger amounts to 8,000.
 
From Sept. 1 to 26, Tibet saw 4,655 take-offs and landings, up 10.8% from the same period last year. Among them, 3,462 were made in Lhasa Gonggar Airport, up 12.5% over the corresponding period of last year. It also has handled 431,011 passenger trips and 3,845 tons of cargo and mail, up 19.7% and 11.7% respectively year-on-year.
