Sept.28,2020 -- Known as one of the "back gardens of Lhasa", Boma Village is located in Naiqung Town of Doilungdeqen District, Lhasa City, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region. Boasting beautiful natural scenery and rich traditional Tibetan culture, it is making efforts to promote rural tourism by integrating modern elements into local traditional culture, and developing new scenic spots. This year, Boma Village is listed as one of China's beautiful leisure villages.

In terms of scenic spots, following the winding flagstone path, there is a historic site with an age of almost one thousand years. "The infrastructure of this spot has been constructed since 2015. Along this 3 km flagstone path, 200 energy-saving street lights were installed and more than one thousand trees were planted. This scenic spot will open to the public in May of 2021." Sonam, the party secretary of Boma Village introduces.

In addition to historic sites, tourists could visit traditional Tibetan houses, too. "We have moved to new houses. The old ones have been revamped into tourist centers, where visitors could experience we local people's life and custom," says Badro, a Boma villager.

As a relocation site for poverty alleviation, Boma Village, near the No.109 national highway, strives to advance the development of rural tourism, bringing an income growth for villagers. Relying on Shangshung Metok Cultural & Tourist Industrial Park, it focuses on developing "Dekyi Tibetan family inns", and other brands of its own. Last year, more than 8,000 local villagers have been employed in "Shangshung Metok" and gotten an income of 2.5 million yuan RMB in total. Around 30 people from registered impoverished households have gotten jobs in "Dekyi Tibetan family inns", each of them earns over 3,000 yuan RMB every month.
