Oct.11, 2019 -- Since the founding of the People's Republic of China over the past 70 years, Ngari Prefecture of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region has made unprecedented historic achievements under the leadership of the Party.

Jaggang Village: border well-off village

Jaggang Village, which is located along the China-India border and a border village construction model, belongs to Risum Town of Rutog County, Ngari Prefecture.

In 58-year-old Tseji Lhamo's home,Tibetan cabinet, table, sofa and other appliances are available. It is hard to imagine that just a few years ago, this family is a typical poor family in Jaggang Village.

"In the past, my family was poor. Even eating rice was a luxury. Now, our life has changed dramatically. We have a two-story house with warm corridors, electricity and water. Having enough food and clothing, our children can go to school," Tseji Lhamo says happily, "my family has raised 70,000 yuan RMB for the house I am living in, while the rest has been invested by the state."

In the battle against poverty and the construction of border well-off village, Jaggang Village has successfully led 27 poor households to lift themselves out of poverty in 2018 by developing farmers and herdsmen construction teams, nursery bases and other collective economy, achieving the goal of lifting the whole village out of poverty. Every year, people in the village will take turns to plant flowers and trees. Now, they have turned the desert along the border line into more than 366 hectares of artificial forest.

"Now I receive subsidies every year and live in such a good house. I really want to thank the Communist Party of China and the great motherland," Tseji Lhamo says proudly.

Qianggu Village: pilot village for the reform of pastoral areas

Born in a poor herdsman's familyin Qianggu Village of Oma Town, Gertse County, Nyima Dondrup serves as the village party branch secretary. In 2015, Qianggu Village has been listed as a pilot village for the reform of pastoral areas in Ngari Prefecture.

Nyima Dondrup has led the villagers to establish herdsmen collective economic cooperative, sand field, farmers and herdsmen construction team, sheep breeding base and other economic entities, changing the traditional nomadic way in the past.

Within a few short years, Qianggu Village has made great achievements in the reform of pastoral areas. By 2018, the net income of the cooperative has reached 2.8 million yuan RMB, and the average dividend of its members is 14,500 yuan RMB. In 2017, the whole village has been lifted out of poverty.

In addition, He was also invited to Beijing to attend the meeting celebrating the 40th anniversary of reform and opening up and was received by General Secretary Xi Jinping.

"I will never forget my original intention to lead the people out of poverty and get rich. I will continue to push forward the reform of the pastoral areas to repay the party committees and governments at all levels who care about and help us, as well as the support and trust of the villagers," Nima thondup says firmly.

At present, the reform and development mode of Qianggu Village has been carried out on a pilot basis for 47 villages in Gertse County and 12 villages in other 6 counties in Ngari.
