Tibet airports handle over 480,000 passengers in August

Sept.29,2017--In August, a total of 4005 flights took off or landed at Tibet’s 5 airports, up 10% year on year. The passenger flow rose 12.3% to 485,530 personnel and the cargo throughput rose 14.4% to 3,684 tons.
 
July and August are tourist peak season of Lhasa City. To ensure safe and ordered flights in peak season, Lhasa Konggar Airport positively strengthens organizational leadership and coordination work as well as scientifically takes effective measures.
 
From January to August, the air routes of Nyingchi-Xi’an and Shigatse-Xi’an-Shanghai were newly opened. Then Tibet’s total air routes were increased to 73 and navigable city reached 41, making great contributions to local economic development.
 
At present, the network layout of Tibet’s airports and air routes is gradually perfected. There are 5 modern airports and 73 domestic and international air routes.
