1 billion yuan from the budget of Tibetan regional government has been allocated as the initial fund and 230 million yuan has been invested in the first quarter. 

 

It is estimated that a total investment of 10.774 billion yuan will be needed. To accelerate the construction, local governments are raising funds through different channels, said Fu Cong, researcher of the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Tibet Autonomous Region.

 

Fu added that the plan and construction have taken ecological protection and local features into consideration. Meanwhile, the infrastructure will be upgraded to provide better public services to Tibetan people.
