Nov. 2, 2016 -- Tibet has stepped up efforts to protect authentic products with 10 of them winning the certificate of “Protected Echo-Origin Products (PEOP),” local authorities announced.
The 10 products ranging from mineral water, barley wine to Thangka embroidery were chosen from 11 enterprises of four cities in Tibet. After strict assessment by experts, they were approved by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) as the first batch of PEOPs in Tibet. "The first 10 products will be awarded certificates by the AQSIQ in December," said Chen Xi, an official from Tibet’s Bureau of Inspection and Quarantine. "With the certificates, enterprises that produce those products are entitled to apply for cash subsidy and rewards from the government. Those products will also come high on local governments’ procurement list," added Chen. By: Qu Yungui Liu Qiang |
