Aug.20,2018--People from Lhoka hold auspicious che-mar boxes, a traditional way of welcoming, for the 11th Panchen Lama’s arrival.

For the first time in eight years, the 11th Panchen Lama has returned to Lhoka, where he received a warm welcome from people of all backgrounds. He expressed that he felt “very warm in my heart”, and said, “Even if I’m in Beijing or Shigatse, Lhoka people will often come to visit me and tell me about Lhoka. I will make good use of my time here and strive to meet the religious needs of Buddhist followers. With chanting teachings, I hope those hearing the scriptures can be kinder and make more positive contributions to their hometown and the country. I will also actively work to mobilize the enthusiasm of a large number of religious believers and communities to actively participate in social and economic development. I believe that our common homeland, Lhoka, will become more and more beautiful, and the people here will be happier and happier.”
