Aug.30,3017--Tashilhunpo Monastery in Shigatse city of Tibet Autonomous Region opened its scripture library to the public on August 4th, 2017.
The scripture library was constructed at the end of 2015 to create a better reading environment for monks and Buddhism believers.
Covering an area of over 1,000 square meters and with three floors, the new library keeps sacred master sculptures, Buddhist classics in Chinese and Tibetan languages and Panchen masters’ scriptures, according to Zongga Aten, deputy director of the Management Committee of the Tashilhunpo Monastery.
“The new scripture library will provide a better reading environment for the monks in the monastery to study classics and Buddhist scriptures,” said Tsering, director of the Management Committee of the Tashilhunpo Monastery.
