The story of Tibetan and Han businessmen in Chengdu
By:China Tibet Online
update:July 03,2018

Compared with other dazzling stores, the Southwest Ethnic Bookstore is very simple.

The founder of this bookstore is a teacher of the Southwest Minzu University named Benjam, who is a native of the Songpan County in Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. The nearby businessmen all call him as "Professor Benjam".

The bookstore contains various forms of Tibetan books, including literature, history, Tibetology, Tibetan medicine, Tibetan Buddhism, reference books and other types of book.

More than 10 years ago, Dorje, from Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan province, opened his own Tibetan costumes shop here. Not only Tibetan people from Tibetan-inhabited areas go there to buy clothes, Han people who are interested in Tibetan culture will also make a visit.
