July 9,2018--The event, “Experience China 2018 in the U.S.” kicked off in Houston on June 29. The week-long event was co-organized by the State Council Information Office of China, the government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and China's General Consulate in Houston.

 

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Sun Zhijun, Vice Minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, said China has always been holding the value of “seeking harmony while preserving differences” and trying to build a community with a shared future for humanity. China pays high attention to the development of its western region and has made great efforts to protect traditional culture.

 

China-US relationship is one of the most important bilateral ties in the world. This event will help American people to understand China’s history and civilization more comprehensively, said Wang Yu, China’s Acting Consul General in Houston.
