Mar. 16, 2018 -- Tibet has attached great importance to advancing “Toilet Revolution”, a campaign to improve public lavatories. 1,934 public toilets will be built or upgraded at service stations along the main national and provincial highways, and in scenic spots across the region, according to the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Construction of Tibet Autonomous Region. Problems of flushing toilets in water-deficient areas have been solved. 5 pilot toilets were built in Yamdrok Lake, Namtso Lake and Dagu Canyon scenic areas. Taking geological conditions, climate and landscape into account, Tibet has compiled a technological guidance for the construction of clean and durable toilets. So far, altogether 456 toilets have been under construction across the region, among which 270 have been basically completed. By: Ma Yangyang |
