The Cultural Exploration of West China in the UK, as a cultural program initiated by the State Council Information Office, featured photo exhibitions, dancing and singing performances, movies and academic exchanges.

 

Manchester is well-known to Chinese people for its time-honored football club and famed Hallé Orchestra. This event will boost China-UK relationship and increase mutual understanding, said Lu Guangjin, head of the delegation and director-general of the Department for Human Rights of the State Council Information Office.

Located in the center of the Silk Road, west China boasts diversified culture and great development potential. West China is a gateway to understanding China and Chinese cultures, added Lu.

 

Deputy representative of the Queen Paul Griffith said the core of the event was to enhance mutual understanding and boost China-UK friendship.

 

Culture exchanges will help British people know more about the culture of west China, Paul added.
