A range of traditional handicrafts, intangible cultural heritage products, and specialty goods from the Xizang autonomous region are on display at the ninth China International Import Expo (CIIE), highlighting the region's culture and distinctive industries.

The Xizang trade delegation has brought together 32 companies to showcase products at the expo's time-honored brands section under the theme "Craftsmanship from the Snowy Plateau, Made in Xizang".

One of the pavilion's highlights is a traditional Tibetan incense brand with a history dating back to 1678. Its incense-making craft is recognized as a regional intangible cultural heritage, and the brand has also been designated a China Time-honored Brand, according to the delegation.

Other exhibits include traditional Tibetan medicine products, cordyceps from the high-altitude areas of Xizang, locally grown apples, yak-wool clothing, yak-leather outdoor boots, handmade Tibetan carpets, and thangka paintings.

The pavilion has also set up a livestreaming studio to promote local products to online audiences, combining on-site displays with digital marketing.

The ninth CIIE runs from Nov 5 to 10 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. Launched in 2018, the annual event is the world's first national-level expo dedicated to imports.
