In early January, a 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck Dingri County in the city of Xigaze, claiming 126 lives and leveling thousands of houses. Many surrounding counties, including Lnaze, were also affected.

A series of relief actions have been carried out rapidly in the quake-hit areas. Normal life has been restored at resettlement sites with temporary housing, water and electricity supply, as well as access to phone and internet services.
