Recently, mandarin ducks (second-class national key protected wild animal) were first observed and recorded in Medog County of southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region. The species is rare on Qinghai-Xizang Plateau and has only been recorded in Banbar County of Qamdo, and Dzongyab Lukhang of Lhasa. Its appearance shows the well-protected local environment and the perfect suitableness for rare birds. (Photo/Medog Media)
