In light of recent concerns raised by netizens on social media platforms regarding exorbitant oxygen prices, the Lhasa Administration for Market Regulation has initiated a targeted law enforcement inspection of the oxygen market.

As per updates from the official WeChat account of the Lhasa city government, the lack of transparency in pricing for carbon fiber high-pressure oxygen cylinders stands out as a significant issue. Carbon fiber high-pressure oxygen cylinders have emerged as a new commodity, and there needs to be more familiarization and price awareness among the general public regarding the product.

Market pricing shows significant discrepancies because relatively unified pricing has yet to be set, which is the cause of the exorbitant oxygen prices, according to the official WeChat account.

Moving forward, the market regulation department in Lhasa will enhance its monitoring of oxygen suppliers, ensuring timely dissemination of prices to the public.

Regulatory departments will take decisive action against any illicit pricing related to oxygen to maintain market order and protect the legitimate rights and interests of consumers.

The prices for oxygen in Lhasa currently vary as follows:

Refilling prices for oxygen steel cylinders: 40L ranges from 90 to 100 yuan ($12.6 to $14), 15L costs 70 yuan, 10L is priced at 50 yuan, 7L at 40 yuan, and 4L at 30 yuan.

Disposable pressing oxygen cylinders vary in price from 15 to 25 yuan. Refilling prices for carbon fiber high-pressure oxygen tanks are as follows: 1.6L costs 50 yuan, and 2.0L costs 70 yuan.
