March 24
On March 24, 1970, Xinhua Agency reported that the Indian representatives in the United Nations Human Rights Council openly put forward the so-called “Tibet issue”, attempting to interfere with the internal affairs of China.
On March 24, 1914, British representative Henry McMahon had a private deal with the Tibetan local government representative Lonchen Shatra in a meeting held in north India’s Simla, delimiting the so-called “McMahon Line” between China and India without the authorization of the central government. Lonchen Shatra signed on the India-Tibetan boundary map provided by Henry McMahon, ceding more than 90,000 square meters of Tibetan land to British India, where the Chinese including Memba, Luoba and Tibetan people lived.
