Tibetan eared pheasant (Crossoptilon harmani)

Tibetan eared pheasant is included in the country’s level two protection list. As a kind of rare bird in the world, it gained this name as it is only found in Tibet. As its tail droops like a horse tail, its Chinese name "Maji" literally means "Horse Pheasant." there are roughly the blue and white Tibetan eared pheasants, but both have dark blue tails that reflect light like metal does. Its head and claws are red; the two eyes are red like rising sun. The feathers at its ears are especially long and lovely. The Tibetan eared pheasant has a complex diet. The young chicks dine on scarab, ant, centipede and other insects; grown-ups will feed ion tender leaves, flower buds, grass seeds and roots. Occasionally, they will land in the farm fields to enjoy highland barley and wheat.

In addition, Tibet is also home to rate species like the bearded vulture, Pallas’ fishing eagle I., ibex, argali, lynx, F.manul., Tibetan snow pheasant, brown bear, wild cat, common kestrel, bald eagle, bar-headed goose, brown-headed gull, Schizothorax, Gymnocypris przewalskii, etc.
