March 14
On March 14, 2008, a series of serious crimes were committed by rioters. The rioting, burning, looting, and ethnic killing started in Tibetan regional capital of Lhasa and spread to other Tibetan areas. The CPC central committe and central government of China took measures immediately and handled properly after the riots, which prevented the conflict from further escalation and restored the social order in Tibet.
On March 14, 1980, the Secretariat of the Central Committee of CPC held the Working Conference on Tibet, reflecting the great importance the central government attached to Tibet.
