In the past years, under the leadership of President Xi Jinping and assisted by the whole nation, a new Yushu has risen from ashes. Right after the earthquake, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council formulated a reconstruction plan to rebuild the city. Since then, Yushu with an elevation of 4,200 meters has seen dramatic changes. A variety of green projects like water treatment plants and landfills have been built. A new information service platform has been set up. A whole new transportation network has been put in place.
