Introduction

It has been 10 years since the 7.1 magnitude earthquake hit Yushu, northwest China’s Qinghai province, on Apr.14th, 2010. In the past years, under the leadership of President Xi Jinping and assisted by the whole nation, a new Yushu has risen from ashes. Right after the earthquake, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council formulated a reconstruction plan to rebuild the city. Since then, Yushu with an elevation of 4,200 meters has seen dramatic changes. A variety of green projects like water treatment plants and landfills have been built. A new information service platform has been set up. A whole new transportation network has been put in place.
