Nov. 14, 2023 -- Some of the researchers involved in the white paper on the governance of Xizang Autonomous Region have shared their thoughts with CGTN about the results. Let's hear what they have to say. 

 

ZHANG YUN, Researcher, China Tibetology Research Center "This white paper fully shows the formation and development of the Party's strategy for the governance of Xizang since the eighteenth CPC National Congress, and the achievements made over the past decade across six areas. It also shows various reasons for these achievements, including the top-level design of the central committee, the efforts of government at all levels, the support of the people of the whole country, and the efforts of people from all ethnic groups in Xizang. This reflects the positive interaction between development and tradition, which complement each other, and has value as a reference for the world."

 

LI DECHENG, Researcher, China Tibetology Research Center "I've mainly participated in writing on religion in Xizang. I think the freedom of religious belief there has entered a very good period, and the people's freedom of religious belief is fully guaranteed. At present, there are more than 1-thousand-7-hundred Buddhist monasteries in Xizang, and the religious life of the believers is fully guaranteed. In other words, judging from the number of religious monasteries, as well as the number of religious and cultural activities, people enjoy full freedom of religious belief."
