Traditional Wangguo Festival celebrated in China's Tibet

Recently, villagers in Sangda, Doilungdeqen District, Lhasa, Tibet Autonomous Region, dressed in festive costumes to celebrate Wangguo Festival.
 
The festival, with a history of more than 1,500 years, serves to greet the forthcoming harvest.
 
Wangguo Festival is held in the seventh or eighth month of the Tibetan calendar, with the exact date depending on crops cultivated in each region.
 
In addition to holding ears of highland barley and circling the farmland, villagers also host horse races, among others, to pray for fine weather and a good harvest.
