The Fitness Guozhuang Dance Exchange Conference for the Elderly of Tibet Autonomous Region was held in Lhasa, Tibet Autonomous Region, on Thursday.

 

More than 500 elderly sports fans, members of national fitness competition teams and performance teams from all over the region performed the Guozhuang dance.

 

As one of the three major Tibetan folk dances, the Guozhuang dance involves "singing and dancing in a circle" and is usually performed for celebration and recreation.

 

In 2006, the Guozhuang dance was included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list in China.
