Nov. 8, 2018 -- In order to speed up agricultural development, Lhasa vigorously carries out the construction of farmland water conservancy infrastructure. Over the past five years, the region has invested 29.98 billion yuan RMB (about 4.325 billion US dollars) into water conservancy and has achieved full coverage of all counties. Adding and upgrading an irrigation area of 1,230 km2 and the effective irrigation area of farmland in the whole district reaching 2600km2, which provides a strong guarantee for the sustained growth of grain production in the whole region.
