May 18,2017--The Nyingzhong Station, 19 kilometers away from central Tibet’s Damxung County, was officially put into operation Tuesday evening.
The newly added station is along Golmud-Lhasa Section of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau Railway.
The new station is part of the project of upgrading the Golmud-Lhasa Section. More stations will be added along the section, which will enhance the section’s transportation capabilities by 20 to 30 percent.
The whole Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau Railway will benefit from the upgrading of the Golmud-Lhasa Section. Newly added stations and more frequent trains will boost transport by rail in Tibet.
