ACCRA, April 29,2021 -- Food and nutrition insecurity in the West African sub-region remains a worrying concern for stakeholders, Ghanaian Foreign Minister Shirley Ayorkor Botchway said here on Wednesday.

The minister made the remarks in her keynote speech at the opening of the International Conference on West African Food Security, Storage System in Accra, capital of Ghana.

"All member states of the sub-regional bloc Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and other relevant stakeholders, therefore, need to boost their collaborative efforts," Botchway said, adding that it was also "necessary and fundamental to the consolidation of regional solidarity and integration."

"I wish to urge all stakeholders to remain committed to the crisis response coordination mechanisms both at the national and regional levels under the leadership of ECOWAS," Botchway said.
