Sept 26.2019--  A senior Saudi diplomat said Wednesday that the kingdom is weighing options of response to the Sept. 14 attack on its oil facilities pending the results of investigation.

"With regard to the situation after the recent attack ... we are in consultations with our friends and allies about the next steps to take," Adel Al-Jubeir, minister of state for foreign affairs of Saudi Arabia, told reporters at the UN Headquarters.

He said his country is waiting for the outcome of an international investigation. "The key is to complete the investigation and continue with the consultations with our allies and friends. I think there is a consensus that such behavior is not acceptable. And how we deal with it is something that we will reveal in due course."

Initial investigation results indicate that Iranian weapons were used in the attack. So Saudi Arabia holds Iran responsible, said Al-Jubeir.

The key to this is that Iran's behavior cannot continue like this. Iran must abide by international law. Iran must comply with the rules-based international order. And Iran's aggressive behavior must be checked, he said.

"We are investigating seriously and we are consulting with people. We will be very deliberative, and we will be very thorough, and we will come up with different options, and we will select the appropriate options as a response to the attacks against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," he said.

He said experts from the United Nations and other countries are in Saudi Arabia to establish the circumstances of the attack.

The United States has blamed Iran for the attack although the Houthi rebels in Yemen have claimed responsibility.
