BERLIN, Oct. 21 -- A total of eight people were slighted injured on Saturday morning in Munich by a knife-armed man, who was later arrested by police.
The first emergency calls go one on Saturday morning: All of a sudden, a man attacked eight people indiscriminately with a knife in Munich in different places. The police call the local residents via Twitter to stay at their homes and avoid the area.
Shortly after Saturday noon, the police said on Twitter that they had caught the suspect.
According to the Deutsche Press Agency, the suspect is a 33-year-old German who has been registered in Munich. The police were quoted as saying that there was no evidence of a terrorist or religious motive and the man was probably mentally ill.
The eight victims, including a 12-year-old boy and a woman, only suffered surface cuts by the perpetrator.
The suspect had criminal records for grievous bodily harm, theft and drug offenses. All those attacked were random victims.
