BEIJING, Oct. 22, 2019 -- A draft revision to China's Law on the Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency has called for more support from social sectors in preventing juvenile delinquency.
Youth, women and student organizations, as well as trade unions, should assist governments and law enforcement agencies at various levels in the initiative, so as to provide and cultivate social support, according to a draft revision submitted to the National People's Congress Standing Committee on Monday.
The government shall encourage and guide social organizations to take part in works related to the prevention of juvenile delinquency, introduce favorable policies and strengthen the management, says the draft.
It also asks for more government support in the study of relevant disciplines and international exchange and cooperation.
The current Law on the Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency entered into force on Nov. 1, 1999.
