BEIJING, April 3, 2019 -- Wang Yang, China's top political advisor, asked non-Communist parties to enhance supervision on poverty alleviation projects at a meeting Monday.

Over the past year, the central committees of non-Communist parties have launched careful reviews on poverty alleviation projects and achieved favorable results, said Wang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee.

Wang instructed the non-Communist parties to spend their resources on key problems and help ensure that the poverty alleviation projects were carried out pragmatically and efficiently and real progress was achieved.

He also asked them to help raise morale, build consensus and pool knowledge and resources to realize poverty relief targets.

Local Party committees and governments should support and cooperate with the non-Communist parties to carry out their supervisory duties, he said.
