By:Xinhua
update:April 01,2019
Apr. 1, 2019 -- Social benefits created by state-owned troupes will be assessed by authorities, of which the results will serve as an essential basis for troupes to apply for funding and subsidies as well as a major indicator of troupe executives' performance, according to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MCT).

The assessment will go on a trial run in Tianjin, Jiangsu, Hunan, Jiangxi, Sichuan, and Yunnan in 2019, before being extended nationwide in 2020, the MCT says.

According to a plan jointly issued by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and three ministries including the MCT, the assessment index system will consist of major indicators on stage art creation, performance and popularization.

The assessment of the social benefits created by a troupe will be conducted by a specific committee comprised of the publicity department of the local committee of the Communist Party of China and the local government's departments of culture and tourism, finance as well as human resources and social security, the MCT says in a statement.
