Lhalu wetland opens to the public this month

April 9,2021 -- Covering an area of 12.2 square kilometers,Lhalu wetland national nature reserve is known as "the lung of Lhasa".
 
During April 1st and November 1st, it opens to the public free of charge from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. everyday except Monday. At present, there are three entrances, the south entrance is at the intersection of North Deji Road and West Dangre Road, the east one is at the middle of Qumi Road nearby the Potala Palace staff's living base, and the north one is nearby Majia Qutong Road.
 
In recent years, with a series of environmental conservation measures,humidity and oxygen content in the air have increased;urban flood-control system has been improved;underground water level has risen; the number of flora and fauna species has grown; and the water area has been expanded by one third.
 
During the visit, visitors should comply with the regulationsconcerning environmental conservation. They are not allowed to take lighters or matches. Don't drop liter and take pets.Moreover, they need to take care of their children to prevent them from falling into the water.
