Aug.10,2020 -- When people having a talk with "Lao Xizang" (People from other provinces but have stayed in Tibet for many years), they will know a mysterious place -- "Shengxiang Tianmen" (Elephant shaped holy gate). It stands on the Chador Lamkar Island north of Nam Co located in Qinglung Township of Bangoin County, Nagqu City, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, facing Mt. Nyanchen Thanglha across the holy lake. It is called "Thanglha Gyego" by local people and considered as a holy gate guarding Mt. Nyanchen Thanglha.

Since 2013, the Party Committee and the People's Government of Tibet Autonomous Region have actively implemented the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on ecological conservation and environmental protection, and achieved great progress. In 2018, to strengthen the construction of ecological security barrier, firmly establish the concept of green development, and strive to coordinate tourism development with ecological protection, Tibet has decided to dismantle the buffer zone in Nam Co Nature Reserve, as well as the viewing platform, tourist road, parking lot, footpath, toilet and other tourism facilities in Shengxiang Tianmen Scenic Spot in Bangoin County, in order to let Shengxiang Tianmen return to nature.
