Preferential policies of "Winter Tour to Tibet"

Oct.15, 2020 -- According to the work forum on Tibetan Tourism Association, the third round of "Winter Tour to Tibet" will be extended to December 31st, which spurs the local tourism while the region maintains vigilance against the virus.

During the prolonged period, except temples, state-owned 3A-class scenic spots and above in Tibet will be free to visit. The tickets to state-owned 3A-class and lower graded scenic spots and private A-class scenic spots will fall to half of the off-season. Tourists could use the list of "Winter Tour to Tibet" scenic spots released by the preparatory office of Tibet Scenic Spots Association as reference.
 
A total of 100,000 yuan RMB will be rewarded to travel agencies that have received 1,000 tourists. An additional reward of 50,000 yuan RMB will be given to each additional 100 tourists, and the cumulative reward of a single travel agency shall not exceed 800,000 yuan RMB.
 
The passenger transportation price of tourist transport enterprises shall not higher than 50% of peak season price.
 
A minimum 50 percent is offered by three-star hotels and above, and boutique hotels.
 
The average discount of each airline in off-season shall not less than 50%, and a limited seat guarantee agreement shall be signed with travel agencies.

According to Wang Songping, the director of Tourism Development Department of Tibet Autonomous Region, in addition to Tibetan New Year, Gongbu New Year, Glacier Snow Mountain and other classic packages, the department has focused on building "Sunshine Tibet" since the beginning of this year, constantly enriching the characteristic products of "Winter Tour to Tibet". The region is cultivating a new business form of "Tourism + Regimen" by promoting Tibetan medicine bath treatment and creating a new tourism experience mode of "warm sun outdoor and warm bath indoor".
