Jan. 19, 2018 -- In 2017, Tibet's capacity for public cultural services was improved, the construction of cultural facilities was accelerated, the capital of public culture was basically guaranteed, the demonstration creation and assessment work was continuously deepened, and the masses' cultural activities were more colorful, according to the Culture Department of Tibet Autonomous Region.

Last year, With a total investment of 1.0055 billion yuan, 10 intangible cultural heritage protection and utilization projects that were invested and constructed by the state had already been arranged and started construction, and a investment of 33.42 million yuan had already been accumulatively completed. The renovation, expanding and newly-built projects of 7 city (prefecture) level libraries and museums were carried out smoothly. The project of Chamdo Library was completed. The renovation and expanding projects of 3 mass art galleries in Nyingchi City, Nagqu Prefecture and Ngari Prefecture were pushed forward steadily. The preliminary work of newly-built Tibet Repertory Theatre as well as rehearsal sites of 7 cities' (prefectures') art troupes was basically finished.

Last year, the continuously investment of various funds basically guaranteed the public cultural construction demand of Tibet Autonomous Region. A national fund of 1.5312 billion yuan was invested in purchasing facilities of cultural activities rooms, grassroots mobile culture vehicles and flow stage cars in 264 poverty-stricken areas, as well as buying equipment for the construction of public digital culture, grassroots mass art galleries and libraries.

In 2017, the Culture Department of Tibet Autonomous Region had actively declared two demonstration zones and 4 projects of the fourth batch of public cultural service system to the Ministry of Culture.
