According to the government of Tibet Autonomous Region, relevant border trade policy is put into trail use in main ports and border trade passageways. By the end of May, the total import and export value of Tibet’s goods trade reaches 2.96 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 86.5%. Border trade is driving residents living in the border areas to get rid of poverty and get rich.

 

Last year, though affected by the "４·２５" earthquake, Tibet's border trade develops well. In terms of structure, besides the stable growth of traditional resource-based products and artifacts, the proportion of manufactured goods including household appliances and cellphones keeps increasing among borderers' trade.

 

This year, Tibet will continue to speed up the post-disaster reconstruction of Gyirong Port, and promote the reopen of Zham Port.
