Sept. 21, 2016 -- It is reported from Lhasa Tourism Administration that Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, sees 13.8 billion yuan (about 2.07 billion U.S. dollars) in tourism revenue from January to August, a year-on-year increase of 22.78 percent.
With an increasing number of tourists, Lhasa's tourism market were thriving from January to August. Lhasa received over 10 million tourists from home and abroad in the first eight months, up 16.4 percent year-on-year. The visitors brought 13.8 billion yuan (about 2.07 billion U.S. dollars) in tourism revenue, a year-on-year increase of 22.78 percent.
Starting from the end of March, a large number of tourists go to Tibet. Especially, the July-August period is high season for Tibet. Lhasa organizes a series of tourism activities this year. Besides, Lhasa Tourism Administration strengthens the regulation on tourism market, providing a safe and sound tourism environment for tourists.
