Income of Tibetan farmers, herdsmen doubles since 2010

July 13, 2016 -- The disposable income of Tibetan farmers and herdsmen reached 8,244 yuan, which is double that of 2010, according to the Working Conference on National Agriculture Assisting Tibet on July 10.
 
According to the conference, the gross output of Tibet’s farming, pasture and fishing industries hit 15 billion yuan last year, up 32.6 percent compared with that of 2010.
 
During the 12th five-year period (2011-2015), a total of 14.9 billion was invested to support the agricultural and pastural development in Tibet, 5.4 times than that of the 11th five-year period (2006-2010). A total of 21 technological experts and service teams have been sent to assist Tibet. 
 
Over 40 thousand herdmen and farmers have received training to increase productivity. 
 
During the 13th five-year period (2016-2020), China will strengthen supporting for Tibet’s agriculture and pasture and help Tibet to explore a modern and green development road.
