Tourists take only 10 minutes to get Potala Palace tickets

June 17, 2016 -- With the coming of high season (May 1 to October 31), Tibet's tourism warms up. Potala Palace, the landmark of Lhasa, is a hot tourism spot for tourists from home and abroad. Currently, tourists can book tickets to Potala Palace online or at Potala Palace ticket window.

Visitors need to apply for free reservation tickets with their valid identity documents such as ID cards or passports one day in advance before they visit the palace. The reservation ticket window opens at 9:00 am and closes after all tickets are sold out. The reservation tickets are free of charge.
 
Tickets online booking
 
Visitors can make a reservation at www.potalapalace.cn from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm within a week. One visitor can book as many as five reservation tickets (one for him/herself and the other four for his/her companions) at a time. Visitors should visit the palace at the given dates and times.
 
From May 1 to October 31, the admission fee of Potala Palace is 200 yuan RMB (30.82 U.S. dollars) per person. Students with student cards and ID cards, the disable with disability certificates, servicemen with military cards, teachers with teaching certificates and the elderly with senior citizen cards can enjoy half price. Besides, Potala Palace is free to children less than 1.2 meters tall.
 
3,000-year-old Potala Palace is a magnificent building involving in palace, castle and temple. In 1994, Potala Palace was listed on the world cultural heritage. In 2015, Potala Palace received over 0.9 million tourists from home and abroad.
 
At present, the prices of one-day tour in Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, including Potala Palace, Barkhor Street, Tibetan house, Jokhang Temple and other attractions, range from 240 to 400 yuan RMB.
