Chinese mountaineers hone their survival skills

Now they are more down to earth at a peak just over 6,000 meters above the sea level to learn to ski.

At the training base in Yangbajing, Lhasa, in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, the mountaineers are also receiving emergency rescue training – a crucial skill in ice and snow covered rocks.
