May 6, 2016 -- According to Lhasa's Tourism Bureau, Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, received 176,100 tourists from both home and abroad during the May Day holiday (April 30?May 2), a year-on-year growth of 11.52 percent. The tourism revenue reached to about 1.1 billion yuan (about 169 million U.S. dollars), up by 18.49 percent.
In order to attract tourists, most travel agencies promote "three-day tour to Nyingchi for enjoying peach blossoms", "three-day tour to Mt. Qomolangma", "one-day tour to Namtso" and other unique travel lines. Tourists can not only enjoy beautiful scenery but also visit the local family and taste the unique Tibetan delicacy.
2016 is the beginning year of 13th Five-Year Plan. Following the principles of unique, high-end and high-quality, Lhasa's Tourism Bureau will accelerate the construction of service function and promote the development of modern tourism.
